<image:title>Shop - Galleon Blend: Philippines & Mexico - CESMACH Women Led Co-Op</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2005, a group of six women farmers from the CESMACH co-op formed an alliance to involve more women in coffee cultivation workshops and recognize their contributions to farm management. They wanted to empower these women who were running their own farms while their husbands were listed as CESMACH members on paper. By 2006, the group grew to 23 women who officially joined CESMACH, selling their coffee as "Café Feminino" to signify it was produced by women. This initiative supports single mothers who often provide for their families.</image:caption>

The premium earned from their coffee sales was used to build vegetable gardens and later invested in women's health programs, including cervical cancer prevention and examinations for over 500 women in partnership with Grounds For Health. Today, the co-op has 224 women members, including widows and private landowners, and one woman producer holds a position on CESMACH's board of directors. This progress is significant in Mexico, where gender equality has been traditionally challenging. The CESMACH Women Producers not only focus on producing coffee grown by women but also adhere to CESMACH's quality standards.

<image:caption>the highest peak in the Philippines—nearly 200 smallholder farmers work together to grow coffee with care. Most belong to the Lumad tribes, and in 2013, they formed a cooperative to bring structure, training, and shared resources to their work. That group is now known as BACOFA. Since then, their coffees have gained national recognition, with several members consistently winning quality awards. The bar is high: to join, each farmer needs at least 50 trees, regular attendance at meetings, and a shared contribution to the coop’s growth. In return, they gain access to training, post-harvest support, and a shared processing center with raised drying beds, de-pulpers, and hullers.</image:caption>

These roles—often overlooked—have become essential sources of income and empowerment in the community. The coop has created jobs, revitalized rural life, and given farmers a way to stay rooted in their land rather than seeking work elsewhere. This is coffee grown with intention—from the heart of Mt. <image:caption>Guji, Ethiopia. Sodu is a washing station in the highlands of Guji, a richly forested region in southern Ethiopia. Until the early 2000s, this area was part of Sidama, but it’s since come into its own—known for its deep red soil, towering elevations, and coffee that stands apart. Ethiopia holds a unique place in the coffee world—not just as the origin of Arabica, but as a place where coffee has been part of everyday life for generations. It wasn’t introduced through colonization. It wasn’t pushed as a cash crop. It’s just… always been there. And that legacy comes through in every cup.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shop - Kapeng Barako: Lipa, Batangas - In the Philippines, Kapeng Barako is a breakfast staple</image:title>
<image:caption>Kapeng Barako delivers a rich, creamy mouthfeel that coffee enthusiasts enjoy. Its most notable characteristics include a bold tropical fruit aroma and an exceptionally smooth texture. Flavor notes feature jackfruit, nutmeg, roasted peanuts, and dark chocolate, with 25% less caffeine than typical Arabica varietals. The beans are one of the rarest types, easily recognizable by their almond shape and captivating aroma. With naturally low acidity, Kapeng Barako is a great choice for those with digestive sensitivities or acid reflux. Additionally, its lower caffeine content makes it an excellent option for individuals looking to reduce their caffeine intake or enjoy a flavorful mid-day brew without worrying about sleep disruption. Liberica coffee holds a significant place in the Philippines’ cultural and economic history: Introduction: Spanish friars first introduced Liberica coffee to the Philippines in the 1740s. Coffee Boom: During the late 19th-century coffee boom, the Philippines’ climate and fertile soil proved ideal for growing Liberica. Coffee Leaf Rust: In the 1890s, coffee leaf rust devastated Arabica crops worldwide. In response, the Philippines turned to Liberica, whose plantations fared better than those of Arabica or Robusta. Today: Though Liberica coffee is still grown, it’s primarily consumed locally, with Batangas and Cavite as the leading producers. In the Philippines, Kapeng Barako is a breakfast staple, traditionally roasted dark and enjoyed for its bold flavor profile, with notes of jackfruit, dark chocolate, and a smoky finish. Known as “kapeng barako,” the term reflects its strong, macho character. Interestingly, Liberica coffee traces its origins back to the forests of West Africa, particularly Liberia, Ivory Coast, and Sierra Leone.</image:caption>

The farm, established in 1923, spans a total of 1,021 hectares of which 381 are planted in Red Catuai, Yellow Bourbon, Mundo Novo, Topázio, Arara, and Rubi. Cherries here are picked ripe using both mechanical and manual harvesting techniques. After harvesting, cherries are moved to a cement patio for drying.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The CESMACH Women Producer program started in 2012, with 32 communities represented by these women. We are proud to share the CESMACH Women's Producer coffee harvest.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pichincha, situated in the northern highlands of the Andean Plateau, is known for its cool weather, two volcanoes, and rose farms. Although the area is relatively lower in elevation, the average temperature is 65° and mist often covers the land in the afternoons, known as cloud forests. This climate provides coffee with comfortability during the day, while the cool nights slightly stress the coffee into producing more sugars per cherry.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Shop - Hulia Sugarcane Decaf - Colombia</image:title>
<image:caption>For us at Boondocks Coffee Roasters, there’s something about Colombia. Actually, it’s not just something—it’s many things. Colombia is one of the most recognized coffee origins in the world, yet saying a coffee is “from Colombia” only tells a fraction of the story. It’s like recommending a book by naming the publisher alone. To truly understand Colombian coffee, you have to look closer—across regions, elevations, varieties, and the people who cultivate it.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Located in southwestern Colombia, Huila is nestled in-between the Central and Eastern ranges of the Andes, with the middle area called the Magdalena Valley. The variation in elevation results in Huila being one of the country's most unique and complex regions of coffee production. Its terroir, climate, and harvest cycles all contribute to the quality of coffee produced here. The most impressive quality behind the coffees coming out of Huila lies in the people producing them. While Huila accounts for nearly 20% of the country's production, 80% of coffee producers operate on less than three hectares.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Grown at over 900 masl in the Cordillera mountains, these robusta beans ripen slower than usual, developing smooth, layered flavors you don’t expect from the species. Think roasted almond, baker’s chocolate, and maple syrup—perfect for those who like bold cups with a bit of edge. It shines on its own, but also holds its ground beautifully in milk-based drinks.</image:caption>
