Kasibu Premium Robusta

$25.00

This is not your typical Robusta.

Grown in the highlands of Kasibu, Kalinga, this natural-processed Robusta challenges expectations—showing depth, structure, and clarity that’s rarely associated with the varietal. Carefully harvested and sun-dried by an indigenous-led farming cooperative, each lot reflects both the land and the people behind it.

The result is a cup that’s bold yet composed—layered with dark sweetness, gentle smokiness, and a textured body that holds its own across brew methods.

In the Cup

Expect a full-bodied profile with notes of smoked cacao and toasted coconut, rounded out by dark molasses sweetness and hints of dried fruit and spice. The finish is long, slightly smoky, and grounding—like low embers at the end of a fire.

Why It Matters

This coffee is part of a growing movement to redefine Philippine Robusta.

Produced by an indigenous-led cooperative in Kalinga, this lot supports smallholder farmers working to preserve traditional growing practices while improving quality and access to market. By sourcing directly and roasting intentionally, we’re able to highlight the true potential of Robusta—while contributing to a more equitable and sustainable coffee system.

Lubuagan, Kalinga, Philippines

This coffee wasn’t meant to happen this way. Years ago, a government planting project brought robusta to the highlands of Lubuagan, Kalinga—thinking it was arabica. But the mix-up led to something worth paying attention to.

Grown at over 900 masl in the Cordillera mountains, these robusta beans ripen slower than usual, developing smooth, layered flavors you don’t expect from the species. Think roasted almond, baker’s chocolate, and maple syrup—perfect for those who like bold cups with a bit of edge. It shines on its own, but also holds its ground beautifully in milk-based drinks.
